The school celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 6th February.
Safer Internet Day (SID) is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people. It is promoted in Ireland by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise. The Theme for Safer Internet Day 2018 is “Create, connect and share respect: A better internet starts with you”.
In school we raised awareness by having discussions, we gave lessons using the guidelines on Webwise and madeclass posters to display around the school promoting a safer internet for ALL.
Each child also received a wristband with the logo #uptous, which is an anti-bullying resource linked in with Safer Internet Day. It’s message promotes positive actions and behaviours and the key is kindness.
